Pray for Rains

Water is the life line of every society. Village invariably came up near drinking water sources. Villages that were away from fresh water sources like rivers, lakes, or ponds…. needed to dig wells. For these wells to have water, we need rains. If the well were not filled up, the East Indian community would pray to St. Anthony by doing a penance of carrying a rock over their heads and singing

Shet- bhatt piku de, don anne paili milu dey.
Chavia lava sargala, ami papi manse, pani – pani paru de.
San Anthon mai dar ugra , ami papi manse – pani paru de.

Mothey bindu paru dey, ananthache dana piku dey.
